I really love this analogy of our freedom and ease of accessing the Father or even accessing His Throne being likened to that of a child accessing his/ her father. But what genuinely facilitates this ease and freedom of access? Simply put, ‘relationship’.

Let’s think about it this way. You wouldn’t approach any man for that reason, anyhow, any time and ask him for anything. However, it will be way much easier to go to your dad and say, “Daddy, I feel …,” or “Daddy, I need …,” or better still, “Daddy let’s do this. Let’s dance/work out/go hiking,” etc., particularly with a dad who is intentional in inculcating a relationship with his children. Not a typical ‘stranger’ dad, which our Dad isn’t.

By virtue of relating to Father God not merely as a creature of His but essentially as a daughter/ son means “access granted.”

One of the most priceless gifts that anyone and a child of God ever has is “ACCESS”: access to the privileges that come with being part of the fold, access to being co-heirs with Christ and sitting in the Heavenly places with Him, access to the promises of God as outlined in the ‘Logos’ Word of God, access in tapping into the supernatural realm, access to all the missiles, tools and strategies in the armory of God, helpful in arming oneself for just not merely battle but absolute victory as well.

Another priceless gift is ‘Identity’. This, even the enemy acknowledges the moment one breaks camp and ascribes to the Kingdom of Light. Well, an insight into Acts 19 paints a picture of the sons of Sceva who really didn’t believe in God but because they had witnessed the power in the incontestable name of Jesus who Paul preached, decided to try a hand at exorcising in the same powerful name. To their utter shock, the evil spirit replied clearly stating, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?” The result? The man with the evil spirit leaped upon the seven sons of Sceva, overcame them, and prevailed against them such that they fled out of that house naked and wounded – a true painting of one of the ways in which counter-attacks are brewed.

More or less depicts what happens in our day-to-day lives, doesn’t it? Consequentially, I picture in my mind someone who hasn’t set their ‘identity’ right with God yet trying their hand on some arsenal or warfare tool as lethal as the name or blood of the Lamb, and the enemy will be sited on the opposite direction scornfully laughing at the candidate, amusedly having a ball, breathless of course from endless laughter, then obnoxiously looks at the candidate and arrogantly, amidst fits of satirical laughter utters something like, “Jesus I know all too very well, no doubt about it; but you, who are you?”

Relationship with the Father also guarantees the ability to tap into divine authority. Luke 10:17-19 brings us into the knowledge of the full authority accorded us through the conversation between Jesus and the 70 who were giving back a report from their mission.

“And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. And He (Jesus) said unto them, ‘I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.’”  That’s outright authority right there given to anyone who relates with God beyond the dimension of a creature of His.

-To fully take dominion and in the proper way, it’s inevitable to operate, not simply in the realm of a creature, but to go a notch higher in joining His family and inculcating a consistent relationship with the Father – sonship.

-More than any gift that one can ever earn on earth, the ultimate gift of being a son of God beyond being a creature of His is the gift of eternal life and being saved from eternal damnation.

Are you a son belonging in the family of God or merely a creature of His?

In order to reap the wholesome benefits of: access, accurate knowledge of identity, divine authority, eternal life as well as appropriately take dominion, just to name but some of the benefits, I implore you to simply ‘join the fold.’

Well, if you genuinely believe Jesus as LORD in your heart and have a deep yearning to be part of the Kingdom fold, pray:

LORD Jesus, I need You.
I relinquish my right to own my life and surrender it to You so that
You can be the Master of my life and of my destiny.
I ask You to forgive me for every sin I have committed (name them if you can)
and to make me whole.
Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins.
I open the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord.
Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life.
Take control of the throne of my life and
make me the kind of person You
want me to be.
Amen!

Romans 10:9 (KJV)

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
